The Jaipur Foot Project was set by the Rotary Club of Nairobi South during the year 1990. An independent Board of Trustees of the Jaipur Foot Trust was registered to manage the project. The main objective of the project is to help every amputee walk again. Amputees receive artificial limbs completely free of charge. Every amputee young or old, man or woman is eligible:-those with one or both legs, with amputations below the knee or above the knee. Since the project is based in Nairobi, we receive inquiries and patients from all over the country. Those from outside Nairobi receive free transport, meals and accommodation. All this has been made possible through regular donations received from various local donors who include individual people, groups and institutions who are sympathetic with the objectives of the project and those who are willing to donate a leg to any identified group of amputees that regularly apply for assistance for having lost their legs as a result of:-
